Short description: CallingID Link Advisor is a safe browsing solution that checks links in a browser, email and instant messenger before you follow them, encourages you to deal with reputable sites and to avoid questionable and fraud sites. When the mouse is placed over a link a risk assessment and the full details of the site owner are displayed, allowing you to evaluate the site before visiting it. If the site is assessed as high risk or its owner is not the one you expect, you can make an easy decision. Link Advisor warns you of links to sites that are known as phishing sites; are known users of malicious code; owned by illegitimate organizations; deceiving links (that lead to different sites than the ones displayed); sites that do not reasonable expose their owner. On the other hand if you see the organization you expect as the site owner and the risk status is “verified” you are encouraged to follow the link. This is the only solution available in the market that brings back the trust in email as a reliable communication channel for business. Institutions can send links by email and customers can follow links and know that it is safe. Link Advisor is very simple, not intrusive and works automatically. Once installed you should just put mouse over a link for more than one second and see the advisor. If you need more details click on the advisor button to get detailed risk assessment. No overhead noticed. Does not require setting for each email client. Using CallingID users see a value beyond security - which is the entity behind the site they want to visit. Most people use Caller-ID on their phone to see who calls them (not for security) and decide if they want to answer. Now with CallingID they can see whom they will connect to on the Internet and decide if they want to visit the site before they click. If they see a site owned by a Nigerian company they may rethink before they click. On the other hand, if they see a reputable entity they will be encouraged to deal with it.
